40 Sri Lankans in foreign employment died due to COVID-19
Chairman of Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB), Kamal Ratwatte said at a press conference today (16) that 40 Sri Lankan expatriate workers have been killed by COVID-19 so far.
They include 37 men and three women.
SLFEB pays Rs. 500,000 death compensation for the migrant employees who register at the bureau. The overdue registrants will be paid Rs. 300,000 under a special welfare fund, the Chairman said.
